I think a lot of them are too sensitive. But the FAQ doc wants to turn America into a progressive “paradise” while ending the industries of many Midwestern states.

The argument against liberals is often some riff on “whatever they say, you do know they’re lying to you and want to control your life, right? They’re gonna indoctrinate you.” That’s the knock. Democrats are playing right into that right now.

I was talking about this specific graf ...

And you can rewrite it into "One of the main beliefs/perceptions liberals hold of conservatives is, however polished their ideas may be communicated, underneath them is a firm "we know better and we're better than you" posture ...

For all the bullshit about those on the left virtue signaling, those on the right are just as guilty. For all the talk about liberal social justice warriors, there are plenty on the conservative side who are also involved in those fights. And for every hashtag activist on the left, there is one on the right. They behave very similar, just from different angles of the problem.

So when a Democrat says "we need to do X," the response is, "there is no We. Anyone asking you to do something for a common good is a They." That makes it very hard to create a functioning society capable of response to large problems. It's an irresponsibility gift card.

Perfectly on topic, since GWAR is from Richmond.

I wonder what the ratio is of white-to-black Esquire readers? 3:1? 5:1? 10:1?

I knew what paragraph you meant and I do not agree.

I do not think liberals, by and large, think conservatives have a superiority complex fueled by their higher educations.

Not sure. I imagine it skews older and white. Its readership was 40 percent women not long ago, which always kind of surprised me. But racially, I don’t know.

There’s now an official Green New Deal. Here’s what’s in it.

“The Green New Deal is what it means to be progressive. Clean air, clean water, decarbonizing, green jobs, a just transition, and environmental justice are what it means to a progressive,” Sean McElwee said. He’s the director of Data Progress, a young think tank whose work has substantially informed the GND. “By definition that means politicians who don’t support those goals aren’t progressive. We need to hold that line. Get on the GND train or choo-choo, motherfucker, we’re going to go right past you.”

    ****

Does “choo choo motherfucker” sound like “we” to you?
