Who knew a frumpy, vaguely masculine woman held so much power?
Very glad I can say I have never grovelled before a nothing creature such as Ann Coulter.

Now the king told his Klansmen
You can't let the MAGA drop
The oil down the desert way
Has been shakin' to the top
    MBS he drove his Cadillac
He went a' cruisin' down to Huntsville
    Melania was a' standing
    On the radiator grille

We may be talking past each other, but I don't have a problem with any of it. Let's stipulate that she'd be ok with a progressive NGO sending an intern to sit in line and she's shocked by business lobbyists paying the homeless to sit in line. Based on her tweets, do you think she would be ok with a business lobbying group sending an intern? If not, she's being hypocritical. If so, then I don't see why it isn't ok for the same group to pay someone -- homeless or otherwise -- to do the same thing.

Personally, I'd be for firing all lobbyists into the fucking sun.

Mmm-hmm, she is. About 1 out of 3 in media coverage tho. Progressives seem to be pretty thrilled with that, too.

Media coverage and influence within the caucus are two very different things. To my mind, the closest equivalent to AOC on the Republican side is Rand Paul. Big egos (big even for pols). Outsized attention because of being a good quote/tweet. A gadfly who quieter members find annoying personally. Has a political base outside the regular party, but also stands with party most of the time, enough so that it'd be far more trouble than it's worth to try to slap them down.

He's going to make a run at transfering money from defense appropriations already in place and using that for the wall. Chuck and Nancy will put the clamps on that stat. At that point Trump has cover - he can blame the Dems for the wall not being built from then on. He can say that he made every effort to build the wall as he promised. His ass is covered and he can play it any way that is favorable for him or fits his audience from that point forward.

She's bigger than Rand Paul ever has been, IMO.

But she's been on the job a handful of weeks and is the face of the Democratic Party. No else is. She is. It's not Pelosi, or Harris or Booker or Klobuchar or anyone. It's her. Twitter says so, and where Twitter goes, so, too, the Democratic Party is a-goin.

I'm not sure that the Dems can get the votes to disapprove or override a veto through the Senate. Maybe it goes as you said, or maybe they stay loyal. Rubio is making some noise, but whether he actually backs that up with a vote is (as always) dubious.
