Yeah, yeah, just wait for the fake assassination attempt as soon as Mueller drops serious indictments.

"While our beloved leader battles for his life in his secret medical clinic, this evil witch hunt must be terminated immediately."

After several weeks of touch and go drama with Fatboy out of public view, the god emperor arises in glory to walk into the sunrise at Moron Lago.

Its only practical use will be if POTUS has a stroke or another disability that leaves him alive but unconscious.

Even then, flunky cabinet members pledged to personal allegiance will refuse to remove him, saying "we'll manage somehow until the great man is back."

The movie "Dave" (yes) and the Woodrow Wilson Administration are the precedents.

Congressmen or Cabinet members demanding proof of the POTUS condition would be like Mr. Rooney in Ferris Bueller: "I want to see a body. You just roll it in here."

And if a majority of the congress and Cabinet are sworn to personal obedience to POTUS, they just take his word for it.

There's history here, and it doesn't indicate the 25th would be used even then. Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke, his closest advisers covered it up, and his wife ran the administration. Reagan was in early stage Alzheimer's. HIS wife covered it up, and the White House ran itself, or rather, GHW Bush and James Baker ran it. Now, with TV and all, it'd be harder to hide a stroke-ridden President, but hardly impossible. Camp David, summer White Houses, meetings with staff with only White House photographer to record, it could be done, and almost surely would be done.
I am of two minds about Trump and the 25th Amendment. On the one hand, he's clearly sundowning, and at an accelerating pace. On the other hand, his administration is a shitshow of back-stabbing and palace intrigue now. Can you imagine what it'd be like if Trump might be pushed aside prior to the election? Mike Pence would need a bulletproof vest AND a food taster, and he wouldn't be the only one.

Slight thread jack: I'm a senior writer for a photography website and when you look at the metrics, traditional newspaper headlines are utterly useless on the Web. If you tell the reader the information contained in the story in the headline, they simply do not click on the story. The headline is enough.

When I first started, I wrote traditional headlines and got literally hundreds of page clicks on my stories. When I began hinting at the information that was contained in the stories, I began getting tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of page views. It's frustrating, but it's the world we live in.

    Back to politics.

Best case scenario: Trump goes down with a stroke and is incapacitated and the 25th isn't invoked, meaning no President Pence.

Don't doubt you for a minute. Just hate it.

But when REALLY big news breaks, all that will go out the window. Unless we really think a "See who was impeached" headline is coming our way.

No. This administration with people fighting to be in charge would be global catastrophe. None of them have any scruples nor brains.
