Assuming Williamson's knee just needs rest, who is the bigger loser, Duke? Nike? Poor shmuck who just ponied up a grand or two (or held on to the seats expecting them to go higher after tonight) to see Duke at Syracuse this weekend?

Williamson's shoe will do the number on Nike's stock today that many people thought the Kaepernick ad would.

At least it gives ESPN heads something to talk about FOR THE NEXT FIVE MONTHS until the NBA draft.

I do think, however, that this will be the little "push" needed to get rid of the one-and-done rule.

    I’d say it’s quite a shove.

Nike is an amazing story, given the large percentage of people who dislike its products who aren't paid millions of dollars to wear them.

It irks me that a lot of talking heads are telling Zion to shut it down now, to preserve his draft stock. It irks me bc I am a consumer and I want to consume a good, entertaining product, and Zion is all that. I get why he, personally, would want to sit out. But personally, I don't two damns about the risk he's taking by playing any further.

Get paid, young man! Don't exert another calorie being an unpaid performer while Nike, Coach K, Duke, ESPN and CBS make money off you.

I don't think you recognize your own self interest as a consumer. You would risk perhaps 10 years or more of enjoyment watching Williamson play in the NBA for the pleasure of watching him play six more weeks in college?

I want to see Zion, who will be the first The Next LeBron, in the NBA. There were tons on guys labeled the Next Jordan. No one has yet been deemed worthy of being The Next LeBron.

OTOH, I’d Iike to see Mike K be repeatedly asked why it’s in the kid’s interest to deliver a 6th National Championship to Duke. Mike has earned his $200 million in career earnings, why doesnt Zion deserve the same opportunity
