Purdue up 10 early in the second half at Northwestern. If PU wins they share the B1G title with the Sparty/UM winner ( I think both of them hold a tiebreaker edge).

EDIT: Boilers win 70-57, so they get a title share and the No. 2 BTT seed.

I wonder if more crud will be coming to light this month with regard to the investigation. The one month of the year people pay attention to college hoops could get very interesting.

Gtown with a big win over Marquette. Probably still need to win one in the big east tourney to cinch a spot, but might be in already. Potentially dangerous team with a 7-9 seed for higher seeds in round 2. Disgraceful it took this long for Patrick Ewing to get a shot at coaching.

LSU fans are not happy with their athletic director.

Michigan State sweeps Michigan for a share of the Big Ten title and the top seed in the league tournament
I don’t think Cassius Winston will be an NBA player but he should be Big Ten MVP and an All-American

Everybody is skating so far. University-6 hasn't been penalized, and it will welcome in the nation's second-ranked recruiting class in the fall. Furthermore: This has got to be the first time anybody has lamented the poor SEC as a little-guy victim.

Values, hell. One would think that the fans of a major university would be intelligent enough to understand that at times a university has to cut their losses. Wilson was inexperienced and did not devise ways to maintain deniability like a veteran coach would have. He had to go.

I do think the reaction is different than it would have been a few years ago. Most people think the players are exploited and should be able to make money anyway. The NCAA is so inconsistent with enforcement it lost any moral authority. At this point most people say to hell with it, just let us watch the players play.

That's true. If you go back a decade, you'd have total outrage and probably institutional action. Kansas is reading the tea leaves. They know the masses are no longer outraged by the idea of paying players. Bill Self, therefore, hasn't been penalized.

Recruits see this, too. A decade ago, a program implicated in NCAA violations such as University-6 wouldn't have signed the nation's second-best recruiting class. But the new coaching staff could say with a fair degree of certainty that the revelations from the FBI probe will ultimately amount to nothing. Kudos to Chris Mack. He didn't pay anybody.

I still say LSU should recuse itself if its pious declarations of commitment to NCAA compliance are genuine. If you're really committed to playing by the rules -- no matter how antiquated and unfair they may be -- you can't eat the fruit of the poisonous tree. If you're so committed to integrity, the revelations should disturb you to the point of recusal.

The timing on this one is unprecedented and fascinating.
