While I believe OOP is overwrought, I believe he is hitting close to the truth here. Athletes can be egomaniacal, paranoid and selfish and still be indispensable elements of team victory- Signed, Tyrus Raymond Cobb.

He quit the last week of the season.

Hard do work hard when you choose not to play.

WTF were they going to do with him in the playoffs? Play him? Fuck no.

    He went rogue.

You want to call the Steelers a joke? A joke is playing him after he quits. Let someone else deal with him.

I’m going to love to see the next collective bargaining agreement. You think the owners are going to allow an asshole like Brown sit and still have a contract? Shit.

Brown has really fucked shit up for his fellow players. There is no way the NFL owners are going to allow this shit to happen again.

The guy was famously credited for working his ass off his entire career. He's got character issues, not work ethic issues. That was my point.

You are welcome to stuff the overwrought thing. I see the mess for what it is. The Steelers handled this horribly, they dramatically weakened their team for 2019 and their front office has serious credibility issues going forward.

The Brown cap hit is mostly offset by not paying Bell last year, which rolls over to this season — a thing which I didn't know existed before today.

work ethic and character issues seem pretty clearly intermingled to me. He worked for himself and bailed on his team. Terrell Owens also worked hard and basically bailed on every team he ever played for. Brown didn’t realize how good he had it. Good riddance to bad garbage.

Wanna bet they finish better than 9-6-1 next year? Bc they definitely will

They are intermingled to a point. All I'm saying is 'yab's claim that Brown isn't willing to work hard is pure ignorance.

Let's see what they do with the rest of the offseason and the draft. At this moment, the Steelers are significantly worse than the team that finished 9-6-1. Perhaps they will avoid the self-inflicted damage that cost them so many games in 2018, but I have a hard time assuming that with Tomlin still in charge.

That part I knew all along, but instead of having room to be in on some good free agents for once, they now have to renegotiate deals, trade away useful players and perhaps make a cut or two to get under the cap.

He works hard for his stats. For years that worked well for the team, but now he is not the fan favorite or sees his spot as the no 1 receiver on the team quickly slipping away, Brown wanting his 8 catches and 11 targets each week gets tougher to accommodate.

Just wait until Carr starts missing him when he’s wide open. Just wait.

Simply bc they lost Brown? Given all the shit he’s supposedly be up to in the last few years, this truly feels like addition by subtraction. His antics aren’t going to stop in Oakland, especially when they suck. He is now their problem. Still can’t believe they wouldn’t pay Mack, but they’ll pay this putz. Laughable when you consider Gruden was the one who sent Keyshawn home bc he was a healthy pain in the ass. Short memory for Chucky
