"President Donald Trump's 2020 budget on Monday proposed a 15 percent cut for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, calling its subsidies to farmers "overly generous" at a time when they are going through the worst crisis in decades because of depressed commodity prices and Trump's trade tariffs."

And they still support him. Stupid.

Well, if it's inevitable you can relax and enjoy it.

It's easy to really go down the rabbit hole when you starting thinking about it. How far down this hole do you go before "who do the military support" becomes a relevant question? It doesn't seem impossible for a bad actor to significantly one-up the Russian effort in 2016 and cast serious doubt on election results — even if they can't actually swing anything — which could in turn easily lead to all of this.

THAT SAID, IMO, this is really a bridge you cross when you come to it. We were all wringing our hands in 2016 about whether or not Trump would acknowledge defeat. Turns out that wasn't our biggest problem. I don't think it's fair to Trump and his supporters — can't believe I'm saying this — to accuse them of trying to pull something like this off until it actually happens.

The budget proposal is ridiculous and entirely predictable.

Trying to slash Medicare and social security was baked in with the utterly fucking stupid tax cuts for rich people.

    Thankfully this is DOA.

Also, hold onto your wig, Trump lied about this.

I've never understand it, people voting against their own interests and voting for a disgraceful, crude, incompetent oaf.

I haven't yet seen anything I'd consider remotely worth impeachment. To me, it has to be an almost unprecedentedly horrible crime backed by impeccable evidence to impeach. The asshole won the election, and he certainly didn't do it by hiding his personality or any of the traits that cause people to want to impeach him. Americans who voted for him are getting what they voted for. To me, overturning the will of the voters is an enormous decision.

He has to be defeated in 2020. That's all there is to it.

I have dozens of "interests." Many of them conflict (lowest possible taxes with the best possible infrastructure and social safety nets, for example).

Any president from any party --- from the most extreme to down-the-middle moderate --- will satisfy some of my interests while failing to satisfy others.

    Stop using that argument.

They think they were getting a raw deal because of bad trade deals before, so while they know they're getting screwed in the moment, they think it's worth it long-term to establish better deals with China, Canada, Mexico, etc. Not saying they're right, but I'm saying that's their logic.

If you go back to the others impeached - Johnson, Clinton, Nixon - and took all of those charges combined - Trump has far surpassed previous thresholds.

They don't have Trump stone cold on perjury, do they? They had Clinton.

He's not been under oath yet - sure. But he's an expert lying. The BEST!
