The entire city of Cleveland, led by its homer-tastic media, just had a collective orgasm.

Wow, the Giants have committed to continue sucking for a few more years.

And I don’t know how to handle a world where the Browns are good.

How'd they do last year with him?
I know it's a copout, but I like this trade for both teams. But we all know that Beckham and Mayfield are going to be caught doing something stupid this offseason.

Oh, they’ve been terrible. But why bring back Manning now? If they do, this move is ridiculous.

Dangerous to gamble a year out like that.

Keep seeing this - I just kind of assume they jettison Manning, or bench him, after hyping someone up in training camp. Or heck, just play him - Old Eli gets you closer to a #1 pick in 2019 than starting a hungry rookie, I imagine.

re: The OBJ trade, I actually think this is fair value for him, which is why I'm surprised it happened. Usually in the NFL, it feels like players are traded for cents on the dollar.

Neither does anyone living in Cleveland. I remember a few years back when they had Winslow, Derek Anderson and IIRC Braylon Edwards, and rhe future looked bright. That didn’t last. They’ve had a great offseason, but on offense especially you have to make all these new parts fit. Remember when Daryl Strawberry was joining his childhood pal Eric Davis in LA? That was supposed to be a harbinger of great things. That came to mind with the reunion of LSU teammates OBJ and Landry. On paper it should work. And on paper the Steelers should have reached at least one SB with Bell and Brown. But egos, off the field bullshit, injuries — they never totally clicked.

As a Steelers fan, I obviously don’t root for the Browns. But that fan base definitely deserves a break. Glad they could enjoy today. But to hell with hoping for their on the field success :))

They shouldn’t have brought him back last year and probably should have drafted Darnold.

Chemistry between baseball and football is apples to oranges.

Of course. Just the idea of longtime friends playing together made me think of Davis and Straw, that’s all.

This is nothing like the Winslow-Edwards team. That team was a mirage. Dorsey deserves medals for what he's done. Twelve months ago it was a team coming off 1-31. Now it's 14-1 to win the Super Bowl. And it's set up for the long haul. Still very young and still tons of cap money that will be here far beyond this year. Unless Mayfield was fool's gold last year, the Browns are going to be legit for a while.
