"The case that may reveal the most about the status of the Mueller investigation will be Friday's status hearing for Rick Gates, who pled guilty over a year ago and has apparently been cooperating with the special counsel in a number of different aspects of the investigation. Prosecutors have delayed Gates' sentencing four times already. If they ask for another delay on Friday it means that he is still cooperating and they expect him to be useful in ongoing cases we may not even know about.

Gates is one of the few characters in this whole drama who was around for the campaign, the transition, the inauguration and the first part of the Trump presidency. He was a major player in the inauguration so it's possible that his testimony will be needed in the new investigation of the inaugural committee just opened in the Southern District of New York."

Obviously filing the state charges is a nuke launched across Fuckboy's bow in case he starts getting an itchy pardon finger for Manafort, Cohen, or preemptively for a bunch of other creeps, including Uday, Qusay, America's Kosher Cuckboy and his wife, the Pretty Princess.

That's the way that a lot of Trump's inner circle will be prevented from dodging their just sentencing. Mueller has spread a lot of pollen around to various courts, both state and federal. Once the state courts know what charges have been made in federal court, they can avoid any chance of double jeopardy by charging other related and equally provable offenses in the state court. A little cooperation goes a long way there.

 

This has Mueller written all over it. An end run around any pardon.

 

Plus who's to say local authorities in some of the various nations where Trump .Org runs its criminal scams may decide they want to put people in jail too. That could put a huge crimp in the royal family's jet setting lifestyle after Big Papa leaves the throne.
