Kidd won’t be coaching in the college ranks anytime soon unless the NCAA has some sort of waiver. Kidd left Cal after 2 years for the NBA.

Isn't the necessity of having a college degree an institutional decision? So somebody could be hired without a degree, but with applicable professional experience?

Cal might go after the guy at Montana. He coached there as an assistant with some success, I think.

Unless they’ve changed the rule, it’s an NCAA requirement. Sidney Lowe had to graduate via correspondence from another school in the Triangle— Shaw, I think — in order to recruit after being named N.C. State coach.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything out of Arizona, Vanderbilt or UCLA either. How many coaches still playing are actually likely to move?

The Virginia guys are the only ones where it's even a question in my mind. And I really don't think Tony is leaving.

Shaw or Saint Augustine's would have made sense since they're both in Raleigh. But it was actually courses from St. Paul's College in Virginia.

(The greater point, of course, stands. If Jason Kidd does not have a four-year degree, he's not going back to save Berkeley.)

Fun fact: St. Paul’s no longer exists.

All of the big conference chalk winning means that there isn't a mid-major coach who suddenly has gotten hot because of one great weekend

Dave Rose retires from BYU after 14 years. Whether his departure was forced or not, he's a big winner...he's lived almost 10 years after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

That guy may have cost himself millions. Cal, Arkansas, Nebraska are open. None is a great job, but all will pay far more than the Anteaters can offer.
Amazing thing is it's not like he got caught saying one bad word on a remote mic. He explained (poorly) his words in depth and went on and on and on in what didn't really sound like an apology at first. Clueless.
