If you’re referring to the comments about Odubel Herrera, yes, they were racist and I wouldn’t have published them.

If you’re referring to other times people have anonymously dogged a player of color, yes, they were racist and I wouldn’t have published them.

You know you are in for a long season when Andrew Cashner is your opening day starter. Of course having said that, Baltimore will probably now be the surprise team of the season. ...

Voit's HR came in the first inning after Judge and Stanton had worked counts and then gotten opposite field hits. Bird's HR came after the game had already been decided and he had struck out 3 times. Interestingly, they left him in to face a lefty and that is when he hit one. Go figure.

I don't know if Voit is the real deal yet. But until he proves everyone wrong, you can't argue with what he is doing. For a guy who looks like a Hans and Frans cartoon, he has better plate discipline than you might guess if you just looked at him and took a guess about what kind of player he is. He works pitchers. He also plays with a ton of emotion, and it's fun for the fans.

Bird is so blah. He seduces you with that made-for-Yankee-Stadium-swing, but at some point he actually has to stay on the field, and produce. And it's been several years now of him disappointing. I find him to be a frustrating player.

We had it on at the office and I checked it on occasion, couldn't believe how fast it was moving considering it didn't start until 4ish. Huggy Jr. watched it at home, said it might be the worst game he has seen in ages.

I haven't been to a home opener in years, they just seemed to be excuses for insanely drunken, stupid behavior.

There were 15 games yesterday. In six of them, the winning team pitched a shutout. In four of them, the winners scored 10 or more runs. It appears that the hitters and pitchers are both ahead of each other in the early going.

The Royals are tied for 1st in the Central.
I'm going to go ahead and post this, because it will probably be the only time it happens all year.

NL East is on the verge of becoming the BEast that the AL East used to be. They are going to beat each up so that no wild card is going to come from the East.

Don't forget the Marlins' role in the division.

St. Louis-Milwaukee will be a good race. Might end up like Yankees-Red Sox, that it's clear that both will make the playoffs and are just fighting to avoid the wild card.

It must be an ESPN thing. Mark Teixeira was talking about the Angels and said they have a good nucleus but must get some of their injured players back, like Garrett Richards. Richards is now a member of the Padres.

You sure you’re not forgetting a team in there?
