I look forward to a Democratic president thwarting a Republican investigation by firing the FBI director, firing the Attorney General, dangling pardons in front of corrupt cronies ensnared in the investigation, hire a toady as the new AG, have the new AG publish a misleading "summary" of the investigation's final report......and not get away with it.

This guy's in the mix. Good candidate, too.

Nice guy, seems pleasant, smart and able. Tough to think a 37-year-old has the perspective to successfully navigate Washington and global diplomacy. Mayor of a small midwestern town to the Oval Office is a mighty leap.

"One little-noticed feature of Trump’s presidency is how little time and attention he devotes to what used to be the banal presidential work of celebrating charitable good works and public service. Speeches and photo ops with volunteers, do-gooder business leaders, hospital visits and the like, once the barely noticed daily bread of presidential messaging, has all but disappeared.......What is so remarkable about Trump is that he has no interest or need to conceal his cruelty. Trump is a highly familiar social type: the leader of a gang, taunting his targets while his flunkies guffaw. Before he came along, it was never possible to imagine such a person occupying the Presidency of the United States."

It's absolutely is a misspeak. We all do it. Nevertheless, this is a smart, gifted politician trying to carry a party she doesn't have to carry and has no business carrying and frankly doesn't know how to carry. The New Deal is the New Deal is the New Deal.

I suppose. I don't think there's much magic to global diplomacy that age will teach you. It's getting along with people, more or less after you really get to know them.

    Biden has that strength.

I'm not saying there's magic that comes with age, but to think that life experience doesn't factor into governing or working with other world leaders seems ... idealistic? If nothing else, a lot of the people he needs to work with may not take him seriously because of his age. That's not his fault or some flaw in his character or skillset, but it's an obstacle he may need to overcome.

He may be great at it, I don't know.

I think Biden might get soundly defeated. While he'd probably destroy the President in debates, the creep factor could be what undoes him before he even gets there. You're going to see a lot of the videos of him fixing young girls hair or leaning in close to women and holding their arms coming out the second he announces a run. Now, I understand he tends to do the same with men, but coupled with Flores saying he made her "uneasy," the videos are going to be low-hanging fruit for his opponents in the primary (I suspect the President, um, will avoid the topic, though his supporters probably won't).
