President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

This should be simple to fix. House Ways and Means refuses to release funds for the Commerce Dept. until Wilbur Ross trots his happy ass down and appears for his department's budget hearing.

I guess he's getting gun shy about lying more to Congress.

 

It truly is amazing the things that happen every day and that we are in this position

 

He wasn't fit last time either.

Members of Mueller's team who have now left it to return to private practice cannot be prevented from testifying before Congress. And you bet your life the leaks to the Times wouldn't have happened without Mueller's at least tacit approval.

 

From the Times story:

"Some of Robert S. Mueller III’s investigators have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated..."

I, for one, am totally shocked Barr downplayed the report so Trump and his toadies could take a victory lap. Thankfully, public opinion hasn't changed.

Gotta see the fucking report.

Anyone who followed the Iran-Contra Scandal knew Barr was a rodent.
These people took oaths- I do not see them being reminded of it, ever.
Would be nice to see the timid national press corps bring it up one time.

 

We are nearing the point where the issue is not whether climate change is real (it is); or whether Donald Trump is an asset to a foreign and hostile power (he is); or whether Donald Trump is an incorrigible racist (he is.) The issue may soon be whether the President of the United States is obviously incapable of holding the office because of mental decline.
I do not joke about dementia. It, like climate change, is real. And it is not pretty. I saw my dad decline for seven years until he mercifully passed away before he forgot who I was. But my dad was not POTUS.

Just yesterday, the President of the United States said his father was born in Germany. There are two possible explanations for this claim:
1) He intentionally lied because he thought it would help his point and because he knew the racist klan who still loves him wouldn't care; or
2) He forgot.
Both of these scenarios are disturbing, but the second one is more plausible and more distressing than the first.
