You're right, I missed that. Bad example. The point I was trying to make was that using racial slurs or writing swastikas is not a crime in the USA because of the first amendment. In Britain or France these would be crimes, I prefer the USA system. I mention liberals because the suppression of unpopular ideas has been highlighted on campuses and social media particularly in regards to gay marriage and trans issues.

Here is a better example. Anti-Semitic flyers found early this week near West Valley schools, police say – Daily News

“Detectives from our West Valley and Topanga divisions are handling this as a hate incident and are encouraging anyone who may have information about this to contact investigators.”

Distributing or posting hateful flyers is not a crime so why are police investigating? Perhaps thiscould represent a potential threat but as ugly as they are, the context seems to be more political than threatening.

 

I think those things are a little more than just "unpopular ideas."

Bigots feel way too comfortable letting their freak flags fly these days.

 

I was banned for being a bigot from a popular message board for saying that sex is determined by chromosomes (except for a few unfortunates with birth defects).

Considering how fast Trump is backpedaling on health care ...

Would it be in the Democrats' interest to fast-track the litigation, if at all possible, to the Fifth Circuit and onward to SCOTUS before the 2020 election takes place?

Either outcome is bad for Trump. Either 1) the courts strike it down and hundreds of millions lose pre-existing condition protections, or 2) the ACA lives on and Trump fails massively again.
