Many liberals agree with you--see Bill Maher--people have a right to their stupid , ignorant opinions. We already have laws that cover these types of things and unless this type of stuff falls into those parameters then this is America, people have the right. I guess the real discussion is --as usual-- where is the line.

If they do beat him I hope it is with the same number of votes he had-whatever the number he is using these days-it would be entertaining to see him backtrack on all of his EV comments.

You're forgetting one, Gerald Ford (I don't hold that against you, who doesn't?). He's an interesting case. The economy was not rosy in 1976, but if Ford hadn't pardoned Nixon, he would've won.

You have two buttons at your disposal.

Button 1: Massive recession in 2020 and Trump gone.

Button 2: Economy continues to chug along and Trump stays.

    What button are you pressing?

Secretly, he will want them to prevent the debates.

    Button 1.
I'll still have a dozen years to retirement. A dip would allow me to buy low, and I know it will rebound in time.

I think Hillary, no matter what any of you think of her, did a damn good job of it in the debates. Puppet, daddy's money, temperament, etc.

Agreed. It wasn't close. And proves the debates don't matter for shit. Anyone who could watch those and still think Trump is a better choice? My lord.

One of my Facebook friends who truly isn't a bad guy other than his love for Trump posted something the other day and the responses were what you'd expect. A bunch of people chiming in with their love for the man, most of it barely readable. But their votes count. A lot of it was like the guy who posted "eat shit" here. They can't discuss. They just throw out the hateful rhetoric and bellow YAY TRUMP! You can point out eight trillion things and they still go "EAT SHIT YAY TRUMP YOU LIBTARDS SUCK LOOSERS"

Not forgetting, just deliberately leaving out because he was never elected. Thus, the voters had no skin in him.

Damn, that 1976 map looks strange. The entire SEC (and Texas!) went for Carter. tapintoamerica must have been making fun of those redneck Pacific Coast voters back then.

    Bravo for honesty.

Most people deny the "you want America to fail just to get your guy in charge" argument (used by both sides).

I don't want a recession that --- despite my attempts at insulating myself from economic catastrophe --- likely would throw millions out of work (including perhaps me and my wife).

    Button 2 for me.

Maybe if that recession happens, you and your wife can move to that workers’ paradise you seem to love so much.
