You nailed it. Of course you know the Republican plan. Can't afford it? Die.

It's up front abuse of power and obstruction. He should be immediately impeached but of course won't be. To me, what's significant is that the Border Patrol supervisors flat out told their agents to ignore an order from the President of the United States.

The Dems really need to start putting together a list of verifiable impeachable offenses - and put them right at the door of the Senate encouraging them to hold their own hearings or whatever. We're more than two years in and I don't know what is or isn't fact with this Administration's dealings. And the only party it serves, is the President.

Not how it works. House must vote to authorize Judiciary Committee to hold impeachment hearings/investigation. Senate is the jury. It can't do anything until House votes articles of impeachment. House should act soon. It's even money bet some asylum seekers get murdered by US personnel before the year is out. Then their hand will be forced. We would also learn that millions of Americans and many elected officials are just fine with such murders. We ought to know that from decades worth of police shootings.

Stephen Miller is what, 33, 34 years old? How is he qualified for his job? What has he accomplished in life before this? Has he really made enough trips around the block to be where he is?

And he looks worse than I do at 51.

All that hate is destroying him from the inside out.

The asylum seekers are overwhelmingly Roman Catholic. If Fuckboy's stormtroopers fire as much as a popgun at them, Pope Francis will call for his overthrow. There are 75 million Catholics in the United States.

I agree with your "all do our part" point, but mandatory car insurance and mandatory health insurance of the kind we're discussing are different in a couple of ways:

    1) Most of the health care discussion is about having taxpayers pay a significant part of the cost of some people's health insurance, or basically a significant part of the cost of their health care as a group. Car insurance isn't as important (or expensive), and I don't know of many people who want taxpayers to help pay for individuals' car insurance.

    2) With car insurance, there's a much more direct link between policyholders' actions (having accidents) and increased claims, and my experience has been that the claims process figures out who's responsible and they wind up paying higher premiums (maybe this is different in no-fault states?). Most people seem to accept that the those who cause more accidents should pay higher premiums. I assume that most catastrophic medical bills are not the result of individuals' preventable actions, and even in the cases where there is a direct link, I doubt that there's much public support for having the government trying to determine fault or to make those "responsible" pay more.

People can go through their entire lives without making a claim on their auto insurance. Impossible with health insurance. Even the healthiest person should get the annual checkup.
