Maybe he should have showed some personal responsibility and saved his money.

So this is a bit of a convoluted discussion - they tend to be around lightning-rod freshmen Congresspersons - but, a few days ago, Ilhan Omar gave a speech that included support for CAIR and this line regarding 9/11:

For far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen and, frankly, I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.

That line - which is in accurate, because CAIR was formed in 1994, not 2001 - worked up some folks, including the New York Post. I'm sure all of you have seen the front page by now.

I'm not going to make some drawn out critique of Omar's comments. I think there's a better phrase than "some people did something."

What was interesting was the Washington Post's "fact checking" of the comments, and its direct linkage to a comment made by George W Bush right after the attack at Ground Zero:

We will leave it to readers to determine whether Omar should have referred to “terrorists” or if the context for “some people” is clear from the speech.

When we listened to the whole speech, we were reminded of President George W. Bush’s phrasing in two famous moments after the Sept. 11 attacks.

“I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”

Just my take? I don't think Omar's comments are much like Bush's comment at all. (The article goes on to reference another speech Bush gave regarding the treatment of Muslim-Americans, which was similar to Omar's comments.

I'm surprised the Post took the extra step of attempting to frame Omar's comments in those terms. I think it's a miss, for one, and it's not really a "fact check."

Yeah, this is the candidate who is supposed to be able to skate past by being so much better than Herman Cain. Nevermind that Cain's nom is dead in the Senate before ever being made.

Is there anyone worse at personnel than Trump?

My heart bleeds for poor Roger Stone and his wife no longer having a nine bedroom house due to his being caught ratfucking the American voters.

Among the great things in this video is if he'd even been kind of listening, he'd have realized he was about to jump directly on a land mine.

Her: "You've said you were for the gold standard in these three clips we hav..."
Him, interrupting: "Excuse me, I am not for the gold standard!"
Her: "So, here are those clips..."
