No, not an "eager prosecutor," this ain't no ham sandwich situation.

Fucko would certainly have been indicted by ANY prosecutor not working on the premise that the President Cannot Be Indicted For ****ANY**** Crime.

The House Democratic leadership's "no impeachment because the Senate won't convict" decision will cost them their majority in 2020 and re-elect Trump. Dems have a base, too, and if our leaders won't fight for us or even listen to us, then it's hard to see why they should be rewarded with our votes. Maybe Trump will be re-elected if they do impeach him, but for sure he will be if they won't even hold an inquiry.

The Democrats need to euthanize Steny Hoyer.

    Sort of.

The hype worked *for* Trump, who, if nothing else, is good at framing debates. He turned the investigation into “no collusion” and “witch hunt.”

We don’t have ironclad proof of collusion. We don’t. Trump shifted the goal posts. What do we have now? Potential obstruction of the investigation that didn’t prove collusion. In other words, he tried to halt his own exoneration. (I know he wasn’t exonerated, but in his mind, he was.)

It wasn’t Mueller’s job to take him down until the media and late night yakkers like Colbert acted like it was.

And yeah, that's basically the reason he wasn't charged. They couldn't prove that he was smart enough to know that meeting violated election law, and you have to prove intent.

Conspiracy and intent are a bitch to prove.

He's to testify in mid-May. I wouldn't be shocked if he resigns from the DOJ before he does, so that he is able to talk more freely.

Once again, the report contains voluminous evidence of obstruction of justice, and it states that Mueller did not declare Trump's actions criminal was because he followed DOJ policy a President can't be indicted. There's even a little footnote saying Trump could face criminal liability when he LEAVES office.

There are twelve cases mentioned in the report as ongoing. Trump has not yet gotten away clean. SDNY is lurking.

With its usual exquisite sense of timing, the DCCC just shot me an email about the report. I apologize here to the low-level staffer or intern who read my reply if any did. No impeachment inquiry, no further funds from yours truly. That's a redacted version with the fucks taken out.

The way I read it is that Mueller was hamstrung by the DOJ ruling re the President, so he wrote his report with the intent of handing it off to Congress. Barr intercepted and started playing partisan games. Mueller is anything but partisan, and I suspect that he'll eventually have something to say about that.

    Try this.

It's worse than that. They're also the guys who are running the country.
