Speaking of Lady Brienne: Her character arc came to a gratifying close. She’s free to die now.

my favorite moment was Sam giving the sword to Jorah.

(And all three of my predictions failed)

We rewatched Season 1 leading up to the premiere, and we've been rewatching Season 2 this week. So seeing Arya go from tomboyish 12-year-old to, ahem, sideboobian horndog has been, um, jarring.

Biggest takeaway from tonight: Dany sees the Starks as a threat to her right to the Iron Throne. She knows Jon is the rightful heir. She knows Sansa will not bend the knee. Things are heading down a bad path with Jon and Dany.

Greyworm dies next week. Brienne and Theon probably follow.

When Sansa asked "What about the North?", all Dany had to say was "You are the Lady of the North." I loved the scene between the two, though. Very well played.

That shared "Men can be such fools about women" moment was golden.

They sure set Jorah up for a hero's death.

Brienne saying Pod can have half a cup of wine and Tyrion pouring till it overflowed.

No cutaway to King's Landing tonight, and next week is the battle, likely for the vast majority of the run time. Bron didn't make it in tonight either.

I've been saying for a while that I think Dany will turn on Jon. I'm more convinced than ever that it is going to happen.

"She never fooled you. You always knew exactly what she was, and you loved her anyway."

My wife had the best line about Arya tonight "I've watched her since she was about 10. It was a little much to take. It would be like watching your little sister during her first time."

Still no deaths yet, but maybe a good time to see where this list stands.

    - Jon and Daenerys are obviously set up for conflict. Does one die? Or does she bend the knee? Or does he bend the knee?
    - Ayra and Sansa still feel like survivors to me
    - Apparently killing the 3ER is the key to an endless night. Therefore: I feel better than ever that Bran survives. ... unless you think GRRM is cheering for the White Walkers
    - Tyrion's chances improved last night, I think
    - Jaime and Cersei are still dead
    - Davos still has a fighting chance
    - Missandei and Grey Worm feel like they had their finale last night
    - Brienne is dead. I'm sure of it
    - Sam and Gilly are unchanged
    - Varys has been a complete non-factor so far
    - We haven't seen the Mountain for more than a minute; That could have been the Hound's farewell last night
    - Haven't seen Melisandre
    - Felt like that was Tormound's goodbye
    - Bronn gonna show up right after the battle concludes?
    - Did Gendry just become the teenager who had sex in the horror movie?
    - Jorah seems certain to die, with his fancy new sword
    - Podrick is dead. I'm pretty sure most of us got that wrong
    - Yara is going to live.
    - Theon is going to die. I got that wrong.
    - We all already knew Beric is going down.
    - Dolorous Edd had his farewell last night, too
    - Haven't seen enough Euron, Qyburn, Hot Pie, Daario or the Dragons

    - The NK dies in either 3 or 4, depending on how long this battle takes, it seems sure. We'll see about the Iron Throne and CleganeBowl.

Missandei/Grey Worm and Brienne each had their thief going on one final job before they retire scenes.
