To your LA point, you're probably right. My remark was probably more my wishful thinking and desire to see ESPN's collective heads explode when Davis is not playing with LeBron next year. But a more measured point might be Davis could land in the Eastern Conference because the Pelicans might get a better deal out there. LA, to your point, might mortgage the farm to get a championship with LeBron in his limited amount of time he has left to still be at such a high level that he can carry a squad to the NBA Final.

The last part was more me throwing spaghetti against the wall. The Warriors would probably have to lose Klay and Durant heading into the 20/21 season for that to be a possibility. But it is more likely the Warriors land Davis than the Blazers.

I am pretty sure they just offered the farm to NO a couple of months ago, and NO wasn't biting. What is there left on the roster?

The key was that NO doesn't know what Boston will offer because the Celtics can't do anything until Kyrie signs or leaves. Boston can make a much better offer, if Ainge is so inclined.

If Ainge doesn't make a serious run at Davis then the Lakers' offer may very well be the best they can get.

I understand Iguodala, he’s 35, however, Green is 29. So don’t really get that one

Iguodala is still a beast and could probably help teams get over the top for another 2-3 years if his regular-season minutes are properly managed.

Someone will try to outbid the Warriors for Draymond and they will be making a huge mistake.

That's not as true anymore. Especially if Memphis sends their pick this year instead of having it roll over.

Than the Lakers? I think they can. I don't know if they will. I think a package with Jason Tatum probably trumps the Lakers offer.

Sure. Jayson Tatum is a better single player than anyone the Lakers can offer. But I don't think he's the potential world-beater everyone talks about when his name comes up in trade talks.

His shooting was down across the board this year, and his PER was barely above league average. You would get him for two more years on his rookie deal, then (probably) have to max him out to keep him.

Combine that with the diminishing draft capital Boston has, and is their offer really THAT good?

I mean, would a Bulls offer of Markkanen, Wendell Carter and an unprotected first be better or worse than Tatum, the No. 9 overall from Memphis and a couple future middling first-round picks?

From an asset perspective, maybe not. The thing that complicates a trade is his willingness to sign with the acquiring team, and I thought Chicago was on his NFW list.

Which, if true, is an absolute indictment of ownership and the front office, since he's from Chicago.

I've been assuming all along that the Celtics throw other players into the deal, but now that the season's over those salaries get trickier. (Unless Jaylen Brown goes, but I doubt Ainge will offer that much.)

Of course, Boston can continue adding where it can, but is Davis, Horford, Heyward, Rozier, Smart and Brown THAT good a team? I'd put them still behind the Bucks and a number of Western Conference teams.
