Looking forward to Canes-Islanders in Round 2.

Laughlin called the Caps out for their lack of, um, backbone after the disallowed goal. Can't say I disagree. Hated the body language after that sequence, both on the ice and from the bench. A bad call went against you? Sack up, get pissed off and answer it. Stop bitching.

The lead guy from Japers Rink is already on record on a podcast as saying that the Caps should fire Rierden if they lose this series. This was before the Oshie injury. I don't think there's any way that happens, nor do I think that's really the answer.

Justin Williams shit the bed as "Mr. Game 7" while playing for Washington but will surely revert to his old self when playing against Washington on Wednesday.

I know it sucks not to have closed it out, but look at it this way at this point. ... game 7s are part of what you watch sports for.

If the Caps win, let's say it's like Derek Stepan's OT goal in the 2015 series against the Caps, your memories of this series will be completely different.

My memories of this series right now are the Caps taking several periods off for shits and giggles and the milk cartons that are circulating with Kuznetsov's face on them.

Man, your team won the Cup last season and this remains your attitude about a tough series? Not healthy.

They're the better team. Should I just be happy about them potentially losing in the first round, something they haven't done in nearly a decade? Sorry, 'they won last year' doesn't make me any happier. Fuck it, why even watch this season at all, since they won last year?

I've already said I don't expect them to win the Cup this year. Too banged up. But I sure as hell expect them to win this series.

EDIT: To add that it's not healthy to think about this until 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, so I'm going to go about the rest of my day.

No, you can’t avoid this until 7:30 PM tomorrow.

I’m going to prod you for your expert analysis, what it will take to win, and keys to the game for the next 20 hours!

Can a goalie transform from a sieve to someone "playing on his head" in the middle of a series? Martin Jones played a fantastic game in Gm. 6, 58 saves in double OT, after a dreadful first 5 games. Weak shots by LV, or finding a groove?

Yes. Vasectomy did it last year for Tampa Bay. Was awful as the Caps went up 2-0. Was great as TBL won three straight. Wasn't as sharp as Caps won 6/7 with shutouts but the team's offense disappearing was a bigger culprit in those games.
