    Preposterous!

We've been assured over and over and over and over and over again: The Crypts are the absolute certain safest place in all of Winterfell. Nothing will EVER go wrong there.

It was the first hint that a turn was possible, that there was more to Jaime than an incestuous, selfish murderer with no honor. Now perhaps Jaime's character changed in Martin's mind as he wrote, but I tend to assume authors know who their characters are and who they will become all along. If you look at it that way, the turn started when Martin began showing us who Jaime could be.

Also, as you said, his turn was driven by being humbled. Sure, he covered it with bluster, but that was certainly the first instance of him being humbled.

In a series that has prominently shown two incestuous relationships (one producing three children), sex involving a dwarf, a prostitute bouncing from a guy's bed to his father's, group sex, anal rape, etc., etc., it's hard to get worked about a garden-variety boff between a man and a woman who are of age.

I always say the final scene of the first episode is the perfect embodiment of the series. It's that moment when Bran climbed the tower and found Jaime with Cersei, then Jaime shoved him out the window. If you can't handle that, watch something else.

I don't think these guys can go where ever they want. That melting ice thing is a bitch. The cold needs to move in front of them. That's probably why they have waited this long.

As context, I'm 15 years older than my youngest sister who is now almost 20. I know what 18, 19, 20 year olds are doing. But sex isn't something I want to think about with her because I've watched her grow up. So that is where my wife is coming from. It isn't clutch my pearls as I have the vapors because it is Game of Thrones. But from a perspective, it is hard to transition from seeing Maisie Williams the 11-year-old child to Maisie Williams the 22-year-old who is now getting naked on my TV screen. That is all.

Child burned at stake, graphically, by father. That’s cool.

    Woman banging man. Not cool?

Agree to disagree. I don't think any change had occurred in Jamie at that point. I don't think his capture particularly humbled him. It happens in war. Losing his hand and suddenly not being the fearsome warrior he'd always fashioned himself, now that humbled him.

    1) That was hard to watch too

    2) That's not what I said

    Twas always thus.

We are waaaaaaaaaaay more concerned with people watching sexy time than massive amounts of violence.

Some of you are making it sound like the folks that thought seeing Arya have sex was weird have drawn a line and THIS is what finally passed it and they're done with the show. No one has done that. People can see things GoT has done and still be like, well, that one was weird for me but I still love the show. It's not that the other stuff wasn't weird or troublesome, too. Burning a kid at the stake was fucked up. No one has been like, "Well, Arya fucked. I'm done with the show with four episodes left. Man, was really hoping to see how this played out." We just thought it was weird after all this time of seeing her as a kid -- some as recently as the last few weeks as we rewatched -- and with virtually no build up to her wanting to get pounded by Gendry's hammer that all of a sudden she was down to clown. Though, really, it fit into the episode well. In honesty, I'm surprised there wasn't more fucking going on at Winterfell.

But to whoever threw the dwarf sex out there -- 1) They have never actually shown Tyrion fucking or nude, just had him talk about it, and 2) Why is dwarves fucking so tawdry? Why you gotta make it seem like dwarf sex is the same as incest? Dwarves need some loving, too.
