It makes me so sad seeing the little children in MAGA hats.

I hope the parents of the reporter's children told them not to take anything offered to them as a gift. The hats are probably on the staff kids. It's a trial run. Next month THEIR parents will have to wear them at work.

Not to mention concerns about crabs, head lice and STDs.

    Hitler Youth - Wikipedia

Before some OOP-like ninny cites Godwin's Law, I am quite able to fuckin perceive what is being attempted here, as are many others.
77-year-old Mitch McConnell and his colleagues can only take the movement so far.
Find the youth, yoke their strength, their vitality, and their naivete.
Old, old playbook for this kind of stuff.

I have yet to see a majority in either house of Congress roll up their sleeves and deal with protecting our elections, and I'll be damned if I understand why.

Because "protecting our elections" is a vague, meaningless term.

And because gerrymandering, voter suppression, lost/missing/suddenly found ballots and all these shenanigans that WE engage in are a far greater threat to our "democracy" than anything a foreign nation will ever do.

And to fix these things would require looking in a mirror and coming to grips with the fact that we don't want to fix what we have broken.

Because the problem is never "us." It's always "them." Them being that evil nation or that evil opposition party.

The simplest measure for enhanced election security is as low-tech as it gets. Paper ballots, with every voter getting a receipt. As we increasingly go to vote by mail, we will see more paper ballots.
