Stand back for a 'get off my lawn' post.

The NFL draft on TV is sooo stupid. The dumb looks on the fans of each team when their team drafts a lineman they never heard of.

And there has to be some NFL flunky whose job it is to find the fans of 32 teams, get them face paint, pom poms. Then push a camera in front of their face as they hear, 'Defensive End, Mississippi State!'.

I dvr'd the whole thing. Fast Forwarded through all the crap to goodell announcing a pick, get through 30 teams of that crap, then find out that the rams traded their pick.

That's an hour I'll never get back.

And, Jeopardy with the good guy was preempted so ABC could show the draft in "Good Morning America" style. F me.

Here are some of the Lions’ second- and third-round picks in the 21st century:

Teez Tabor, Ameer Abdullah, Alex Carter, Kyle Van Noy, Ryan Broyles, Bill Bentley, Titus Young, Mikel Leshoure, Amari Spivey, Jordan Dizon, Ikaka Alana-Francis, Daniel Bullocks, Brian Calhoun, Teddy Lehman, Boss Bailey, Kalimba Edwards

    THAT’s why they’re the Lions

Yeah and what about the wide receivers they picked in the first round?

Let me make sure I'm understanding correctly. ABC bumped its normal prime-time schedule to televise the draft? I had no idea.

A commercial I saw last week narrated something like, "Join Robin Roberts as she gives you the story behind the faces of the NFL draft".

It sounds like they were going to do the draft as a schmaltzy, Good Morning America-ish, Up Close and Personal-ish type of draft show.

It was the College GameDay crew on ABC and the regular draft crew on ESPN

Wow, I just had no idea one of the former "Big 3" over-the-air networks was televising the draft.

ABC's Thursday prime-time schedule must be pretty poor.

I like seeing the retired players and the walk through the tunnel.

I do miss the passionate Jet fans.

    The Jets select... tight end...

    Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Part of the deal with the devil they did, they had to switch from WRs to TEs.

re: Trading down, at least on the Ringer pre-draft podcasts, they mentioned that pretty much every team is now trying to do this, and that there's probably a market imbalance now. I'm assuming this is part of why we didn't see much trading down until the back end of the first round, and then then, it mostly seemed to be swaps for 5 to 10 spots of positioning.
