We’re straight-up done with the Night King, the Walkers and the wights.

Episode was bonkers. So many details. And yes, that battle would have worked itself out that quickly. An army of winter zombies ain’t gonna lay in a siege.

    Just for fun, there’s this:

I think there will be some elements different in the final books for sure, but I think the overall thrust will be the same. But I’m not betting on all the books getting finished lol. Doesn’t he have one to finish and another that he hasn’t even started?

Lots of bitching about how dark the episode was. We turned off our lights, and while it was still dark, we could see pretty well. Also, dark of night, fog, both magic and natural, fires, smoke. They played off of the fog of war and all but made it a character.

I didn't take it as artsy, but as trying to give a sense of how fast and fragmented and confusing a situation like that truly is for the people in the middle of it as it happens.

If you follow anything on Facebook, it is vastly different than anything I follow on Facebook.... which is nothing. :D

Everything I've read has been news sites about fan reactions.

I turned off my lights, too, to cut down any glare.

That can be done without so much of the damn thing being confusing, but it does work on that level.

I've never actually heard anyone refer to Game of Thrones as the best show of all time. Hell, it may not be in the top five of shows on right now. But as was pointed it, it is something that is great water cooler fodder. Case in point, at our tournament yesterday, myself (43), my co-worker (28) and one of our Rules officials (67) were all talking about it. It may be one of the last bits of true encompassing TV.

Game of Thrones is for me mostly a pulp show. There are some excellent actors and good writing, but the show rarely is deeper than what you see on the screen.

He’s made such a mess in terms of plot that I don’t think he can finish the entire story that quickly. I figure it will take him (or somebody writing from his plot framework, as happened with Robert Jordan’s “Wheel of Time” series) at least 3 very thick novels to wrap it up.

Meh. The only fan reaction you should worry about is your own.
