And if a president fails to nominate a candidate for a cabinet position within 45 days, Congress should be able to name its own appointee by simple majority vote of EITHER house.

 

The inability to meet in the lowest bars of propriety and competence with this President, and the willingness for legislators to enable it are baffling to me. Forget the President, maybe Congress should start impeaching others in government who aren't willing to do the basics of their job.

The objective is to put a gun to the head of the White House, force them to shit or get off the pot.

Failure to promptly nominate a candidate for a cabinet post (especially a Tier I cabinet post such as SOS, Defense, AG) in and of itself constitutes an impeachable failure to fulfill the oath of office ("faithfully execute the office of POTUS.")
