That goes against Marvel's formula, too. They've cast some name actors, but mostly rely on underpriced and lesser known talent for the major roles.

I'll realize they're out of movie ideas if we see this poster in the theater:

It is crazy to think about Downey. His previous films before Iron Man were Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (a solid movie, but he shared top billing with Val Kilmer), a supporting role in Charlie Bartlett, Zodiac (co-lead with Gyllenhaal) and Good Night and Good Luck (a supporting role). Marvel had some serious nads to cast him to carry a franchise of franchises.
Since then, Tropic Thunder, the Sherlock Holmes movies, The Judge, a comedy with Zach Galifinakis...and he's got a Dr. Doolittle movie in the can.

Not too much to add. Good stuff here. Like most said, a satisfying ending to this chapter. I've seen most, not all, of the movies. Haven't seen Captain Marvel or Dr. Strange and a couple of others. But I think I "got" most of it.

The little moment I didn't see mentioned here (and if it was, apologies) is between Happy and Stark's daughter, talking cheeseburgers. Very sweet callback to the first Iron Man flick.

Pixar was about to fold, but they wanted to wait and see how the first movie was received. It did well.

The writing is half the job. The actors name should never ben greater than the hero.

What really sold me was this scene -

It was not until I saw how they made Iron Man fight that I knew these were going to be great movies. When he punched that guy into the second story wall... that's what it should look like. The no-look tank explosion. That's what it should look like. If those scenes did not look good, the movies would have never made it. IMHO.

I think it's impossible to fuck up Disney Plus with Endgame being its headliner in a few months.

I was pretty much at my limit on streaming services, but with Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, etc. ... Disney+ is a no-brainer.

Marvel's casting has been kind of all over the place, now that they've been successful. I feel like Downey Jr. was a good "get" for them at the beginning, and Iron Man was seen as a kind of "meh" character until he revitalized it. Evans and Helmsworth could probably be in the "promising younger actors" category before their casting. Brie Larsen and Cheadle were coming off Oscar noms or wins. Cumberbatch was probably as hot as he was going to be, in the middle of his "Sherlock" run.

I'm positive they've kicked the tires on the interest level of huge, huge stars, like Leo, Charlize Thereon, Matt Damon. (By the way, that last one *has* been in a Marvel movie.) The fact that they haven't been in one suggests to me that they're not interested. Might not be especially thrilling to them, from an artistic level, plus, you usually have to sign-up for anywhere from 3 to 7 movies for Marvel.

They did get Robert Redford for two movies. He's past his prime but still an A-Lister I would think.
