You don't have to be a cop to see that. And I don't disagree with him.

But when you tweet something like that, yeah, you do politics.

Trump crimes (aside from Mueller report file)

"Trump’s pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio merited consideration in an impeachment inquiry. Arpaio, remember, was convicted of criminal contempt for his refusal to cease detaining people only on the suspicion that they had flouted immigration law. According to The Washington Post, Trump first asked then–Attorney General Jeff Sessions whether the Justice Department could drop the prosecution of Arpaio, then decided to pardon him if Arpaio was convicted at trial. How else to describe this process but as abuse of power?

What about his recent instructions to Border Patrol officers, as reported by CNN, to disobey the courts in turning back asylum seekers? His repeated calls for the criminal prosecution of his political rivals? His demands for the U.S. Postal Service to dramatically raise rates for shipping Amazon packages, for no obvious reason other than to punish Amazon CEO and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos? His rescinding of the security clearances of a number of his high-profile critics, including former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan? Or consider his repeated decisions to overrule his own intelligence agencies in declassifying sensitive information related to the Russia investigation in order to score political points, with apparent disregard for the potential consequences to the country."

    Plus, hush money, etc.

    All of the Impeachable Offenses

Not picking on Driftwood here, as everyone falls into this trap, but "electability" is a fraudulent concept, a means by which people argue for their political prior convictions in terms of candidates. There are many people out there making the to me erroneous argument that Bernie Sanders is the MOST electable Democratic candidate. They're just signaling their support for him. Nobody really knows. By definition, whoever becomes the Democratic nominee will have been judged the most "electable" by the party due to selection by voters. That doesn't guarantee he or she will win, but any of the two parties nominees almost always has a significant chance of winning, because the parties are roughly equal.
PS: And what's really bullshit are after the fact arguments that losing candidates like Clinton, Romney or Gore were never "electable" because they assume other candidates of that party would've done better when they may well have done worse.

She struggles at being a politician. Her support of police/prison guard unions as AG in California belies her progressive credentials. However her takedown of Barr in that clip was masterful. I was entertained. :)

Skinner is an interesting cat, and although he denies it, a great twitter follow. He's a former CIA operative in the Persian Gulf and the 'Stans who retired and moved back to his home in Savannah and took a job as a neighborhood cop. (And no, he's not a false flag bullshit former CIA guy, he was the real deal. Remember the guy inside the Taliban that the CIA recruited and later talked into coming to one of their secret bases to debrief, and when he came in he was carrying a bomb and killed seven CIA? It was portrayed in the movie "Zero Dark Thirty". Skinner recruited him. They had taken him away and someone else was running him at that time.)

Anyhow, bright guy with a lot of real world experiences.

Ragu, many of us here say that or more in a forum that any number of people can read. Expressing your opinion in a public forum isn't "doing politics", which I would define as being active in politics, working campaigns, raising money, being active in a political party. Yes, he has 36k twitter followers, and maybe moves the needle a bit in that sense - but as you said, he's not saying anything that hundreds of thousands of people who watch the news weren't saying yesterday.

So, yes, a tweet like this is political... but again, not so different from what we say here daily, and while there are plenty of comments on (and bitching about) politics here, I don't think of SJ as a "politically active" sort of place.

When he says something like this, he is speaking as a former intelligence operative who actually recruited spies and agents of influence.

Social Security is a successful anti-poverty insurance program that is a paradigm of good government. The administrative costs are a fraction of what a for profit pension program would cost.

Sure it has something to do with glitter cowboys at Studio 54.

Okay, it probably has nothing to do with that but I just miss reading about it here.
