    If someone had incontrovertible proof (video/audio/docs) of wrongdoing in the Administration, I'm not sure if the Dems in Congress or the media would even be able to do anything with it - or at least make a dent in public opinion.

    In all seriousness, I believe it's pretty plain Pelosi is resisting impeachment because she has been told by a decisive number of her caucus either that they won't vote to open an inquiry or have pleaded with her not to be forced to take such a vote. As a good Congressional leader does, she's willing to take the heat to protect members who believe, rightly or wrongly, the vote makes them vulnerable. It's those fainthearts who need to hear from Democratic constituents, not her.
