Not a lot coming out good now. We barely talk about ideas in America - about who we want to be. It’s all tactics and reciprocity and special counsels and special prosecutors and hearings. It feels like one long, annoying argument.

And honestly it’s the worst thing about Trump - the discord he inspires. He doesn’t win any converts - how could he, the way he is every day - and his supporters are buffeted, IMO, by the fact that he’s loathed! The single most compelling argument against Trump is that: America is a broken family under him and won’t heal either way until he’s out. I’m not sure it has to be more complex than that.

Nobody cared very much about a bunch of clowns breaking into a Watergate office building, either, until the onion kept getting peeled. Release those tax returns, find out just how deeply he's involved with Russian banks, how little taxes he actually pays, etc., start peeling the onion, and people get interested pretty damn fast.

Warren might be Secretary of the Treasury, but I'd bet she'd rather stay in the Senate -- especially if it's President Biden.

I am old enough to remember Watergate. The initial break-in was big news, although only a couple day sensation. It took the drip, drip, drip starting with Woodward and Bernstein, going through Sam Ervin and ending with the House Judiciary to bring matters to a head. And lest we forget, it wasn't until James McCord realized what his sentence meant that things really broke open.

Nixon didn’t have Fox News to protect him. Trump does. He could be caught on tape conspiring to kill opponents and skate.

This is what I mean. It’s not “crazy.” What is a journalist - or whatever he is - writing the word “crazy” here?
