In the clubhouse yesterday after 18, I’m telling my buddies that I respect Harden and appreciate that he doesn’t whine like Paul and some random guy starts in all Fanboi telling me he’s the worst. Man I couldn’t believe that I, the guy who pretended to be Rick Barry in the backyard, was defending a Rocket. Let’s at least try to be somewhat impartial. Guess I’ve been that guy at some point.

I know that this ties my in with the GET OFF MY LAWN crowd but I hate watching harden play. The iso play that ends with him jacking up a 3 or a floater drives me nuts. I get that any shot that goes in is a good shot but the lack of ball movement sucks to watch.

I felt the same about Lilliard's awesome 3 for the win against OKC as well. I just haven't changed my thinking to think that these are good shots.

One of the greatest shots in NBA history happened after Jordan dribbled the ball up himself and held it for like 15 seconds.

The sour science driving James Harden's vexing genius

Which also involved him getting away with a push off. One of Jordan’s best plays was also the dish off to Kerr (or was it Paxson?) for the open jumper.

Giannis with space to make a spin move or Euro step? Unstoppable. Kyrie? A mere mortal. Marcus Morris? Fake tough guy.

I know the injury has a lot to do with it - but what do the Celtics due with Hayward? Eat the contract? (two years left). The roster situation might be a case of addition by subtraction.

Hayward was playing pretty damn well at the end of the season.

How exactly does the team improve by "eating the contract," not having Hayward on the roster, and keeping $33 million and $34 million in dead money on their salary cap for the next two seasons?

    Hayward's not going anywhere.

Pretty sure that the team had some chemistry issues - and some players feel stifled.

    Pray the Rosary?

The best view of things is that, with big-time injuries, it's the year after the return that players are most likely to get back to who they were before The Incident.

The worst is that they were horribly unlucky and they now have a max deal role player.

Either way, he's all theirs for the foreseeable future.
