Kyrie seems like a complete pain to play with. But he can get in a groove where he can’t be guarded, is unstoppable at the rim and he also hit the winning shot in game 7 of the finals.

Is your team suffering from "The Disease of Me?" Look for the following signs and symptoms:
    • Inexperience in dealing with sudden success
    • Chronic feelings of underappreciation
    • Paranoia over being cheated out of one's rightful share
    • Resentment against the competence of partners
    • Personal effort mustered solely to outshine a teammate
    • A leadership vacuum resulting from the formation of cliques and rivalries
    • Feelings of frustration even when the team performs successfully

That doesn’t take away from the point he was making.

How do they improve by”eating” the contract?

Sitting a max guy at the end of your bench is bad for all involved. Almost as bad as playing him due to his contract and not whether the team is better with him on the court or not. If he sits on another team, it's not as big of a deal. Heck, Utah might still take him back. The Pacers could swap him even for Oladipo.

I’m not even sure how to respond to this.

    Good God, man.

They are paying him $33 million next season and $34 million the following season. Even if they "eat the contract", that money counts against the cap. They would be crippling themselves.

The Pacers could not trade Oladipo for him. The salaries are not close.

And above all... kind of an overreaction to one bad game, doncha think? He averaged 16 points over the last 10 games.

Fair enough - I figure the chemistry will change enough with Kyrie expected to leave - figure there will be more ball to go around. Maybe Hayward works better as a sixth man.

Wow...there's no fucking way I would have let the Warriors get one shot off, much less two.

    Houston got very lucky.

I find the Rockets immensely unlikeable, but if they knock out the Warriors I will never stop laughing.

He's been the sixth man all year.
