This is totally random, but a thought that entered my head today.
Up until the RNC 2016, I considered myself a dyed in the wool Republican.
At various stages in my life, I have belonged to each of the following organizations for one year each because at joining, I thought I was onboard with what they stood for: NRA, Sons of Confederate Veterans, American Legion.
Again, I joined and got out after one year during my staunch Republican days saying, "Y'all are fucking nuts." This was decades before the rise of Trump.

My whole point of sharing my previous post was that if these groups were so far out there for me as an avowed right wing conservative 20 years ago, how messed up are they today ...

Imagine what a "smoother" politician could do using the tactics Trump has now conditioned Republicans and much of the public to think are perfectly a-ok or politics as normal. Ignoring subpeonas, contempt of court, executive privledge, yanking press credentials. And the longer it takes to react and respond only benefits him.

He's absolutely right. Your feudal lords don't pay taxes, the tax code is written specifically so they can take paper losses even when they are raking in tons of cash.

So is Reed right that Trump's failures are just a part of being in the arena?

I was about to look into this, but my Search function went down the garbage disposal.
