Both are great but I think the one with Embid in the photo gives you the juxtaposition that sums up the moment. But you ask me which one will go down in history my answer is yes.

No one does. He's really unique, and I really love that about him. That said, I can see how some in the media may dislike it.

I think the case "against" Brown is more of a cumulative one. Ben Simmons' numbers are flat from year to year, they had all the weird stuff with Fultz, and for a second straight year Embiid looked gassed at the end of their games. All three situations can be attributed to the individual players needing to step up, too, but usually in the NBA you try to cycle through coaches to find the right one to motivate your guys. (Easier to change up the $2m to $5m per year guy that doesn't count against the salary cap.) He was part of the front office decision-makers in the offseason, so I don't think he had zero say in the roster construction. If the Sixers brought him back, I don't think it would an awful, "why are the Cavs even bothering with Lue?" thing, but I think they have plenty of credible reasons to move on too.

    A big payday, I'd guess.

The Cavaliers are going to suck dead Lake Erie alewives for the foreseeable future, certainly most of his five-year contract.

And we know what the reaction of NBA players will be to a 66-year-old coach who's never seen an NBA game except as a paying fan.

Five years of good money, and even if he fails, he can just go back to college ball, likely at a near-Michigan level whenever one of those jobs opens up.

He's 66 years old. Signed a new extension less than a year ago that perpetually rolls over. I guess if you have an itch you want to scratch, it's nice that it comes with a bit of scratch.
