Maybe these college coaches are afraid of becoming Sean Miller?

He also, based on his reputation, recruits them with a considerably lower payroll. And I’m sure a small part of him is pissed off that three of his best players just upped and left to maybe go in the second round, turning on what could have been a preseason number one team into just a solid big 10 squad.

As Rick Pitino proved decades ago, a college coach of merit can flame out in the most spectacular NBA failure and return to college coaching no harm, no foul.

I think if you're Michigan you either go internal interim for the next season or hire someone cheap and outside with a "prove it" 2-year deal - allowing you to make a bigger move in the next year.

Yeah, I think the better question is WTH is Cleveland thinking? Beilein is a fantastic coach and I can understand the Cavs liking him because he knows how to build a winning culture, but a 66-year-old rookie coach with no previous NBA experience is definitely a gamble.

The Clevelands of the NBA are never going to win luring the huge names via free agency. They have to go through the draft and win with a system of team ball. That or strike gold like the Bucks did with a single iconic player.

Kobe Bryant's show on espn+ - where he breaks down games.

    Anybody ever watched it?

Best defense he ever played was in Eagle.

Encouraging signs of reduced fanaticsim, I turned down opportunity to see Game 1 tonight of Ws - Blazers (at face ticket value) because it was in upper bowl. Been spoiled seeing everything in lower reaches for last 10 years.

Anyone else catch "Shaq Stories" on NBATV? Really nice insights into Shaq. Story of why he buried the hatchet with Kobe and how Shaq Christmas came about. Never noticed that he once blocked 15 shots in a game (record) because only remembered him as this huge dude getting called for reaching fouls and other small stuff which I thought a big dude should never get called for.
