Fucking Alabama. I think this anti-abortion bill is designed to get to SCOTUS so Roe v Wade can be overturned.

The sad thing is there are good ideas embedded within the Green New Deal. But the idea to make the proposal super-audacious, then have a new congressperson about 4 weeks into the job introduce it, was a big miscalculation.

There are three or four red state abortion bills that are 100% set up to get SCOTUS to take on Roe v Wade. It only takes four justices to agree to hear the case. What happens after that is honestly a toss up to me. Even with one conservative defection because of precedent, they can agree to hear the case. I don't have a read on what will happen next. Roberts, I think, doesn't want to go down that road. If his court overturns a Burger decision, history will record someone down the line overturning his. For all the shitstorm over Gorsuch and Beer Bong Brett, those two have kind of been pinballs so far.

Thomas is a piece of shit. I don't know enough about Alito off the top of my head to comment on him.

They won’t overturn it. Verdict will be 6-3 or 7-2 to strike down Alabama law, if it ever gets there.

It is, but I don’t think even Roberts wants to approve a law that bans abortion in cases of rape and incest.
