    nah, I am 95% sure that Sidney Lowe was an assistant coach at Long Beach State, back when Seth Greenberg coached, or the guy before him.

    I was at a game, and I could not believe I was looking at Sidney Lowe as an assistant.

    Edit: Crap, I think I mixed up Lowe for Whittenberg. Derek was at Long Beach State.

    Former 76er Caldwell Jones was an assistant coach for a very minor league team in Little Rock a few years back. The fact that he was coaching was one of the selling points of the league. Trot his name out there, get some NBA fans to the games.

    I was on the stat crew for this outfit, and Jones was there for the first game of the season, and we never saw him again. But I do still have in my house somewhere the stat crew paycheck that bounced. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

    How many head coaching jobs did Tom Izzo have before Michigan State?
    I think Howard will be OK
    Can he be worse than Brian Ellerbe or Tommy Amaker?

    Well, he'll recruit. And his hiring will now reconcile Chris Webber back to Michigan. Those are good things.

    We'll see how he puts his staff together. I imagine he keeps at least 1 Beilein assistant.
