It’s successful in drawing good students who’d otherwise attend other schools on scholarship, yes. In other words, Michigan is doing a good job of creating more initial economic diversity in its freshman class. These are not likely students who otherwise would have gone to no college at all - just different ones. Probably for something close to free, in terms of tuition.

I’d love to see an article - maybe it’s been written - on the median test score/GPA of a student using the Go Blue guarantee. If it’s a 3.9/32 ACT, it’s essentially just Michigan’s way of giving a scholarship. There’s *some* minor difference between at 4.2/35 person and a 3.9/32, but it can be pretty negligible.
