Yeah, reporters shouldn’t be able to decide, even collectively, how much a player in the league they cover makes. There’s already enough pettiness between players and media.

 

And imagine if Charlotte doesn’t even offer the supermax or if Walker doesn’t accept it. Those are two very real possibilities.

It felt like Klay was more upset about the lack of respect toward his body of work on the best team of this era. His play has no doubt been vital to the Warriors’ success. But these are the sacrifices he signed up for when he was part of a recruiting effort to bring on a league MVP for the sake of running the table for a few years. Klay probably deserved to be All-NBA based on his ability, but it’s probably not as obvious with him as a third option.
