Just realized they're in Kansas City on the 20th anniversary of Owen Hart's death. That's a really weird coincidence.

That is TNA-level style of fuck-up. Just do a Fatal Fourway where the first guy who gets the pin wins it all. They’re just flailing right now.

It’s a few days later, but yeah, strange timing.

Do you think the writers told him to say that, or he did that on his own?

Writers told him to do that.

It seemed like the entire segment was geared up for that. I mean, besides maybe Sami criticizing the E for the Saudi Arabia trips, why else would they have him there for a supposed “uncensored” Q and A?

I'm totally with you on this one. Just been seeing many people on the Twitterz saying "bye bye Sami. See you in AEW".

Vince would never allow anything like that. Even Punk's infamous pipebomb was overseen to an extent.

Meanwhile, in the warm and fuzzy aisle: last night's post-Raw dark match:

So are we pretending they didnt already announce Lesnar vs Rollins for Showdown? Rollins going twice on that show? Did Brock suddenly decide he was a human rights guy and pull out? Its all so confusing.

Count me as in on this goofier funnier version of Brock tho. I’m amused.

If they had any guys they’d have Lesnar whack Heyman with the contract and say “Paul, I aint goin to Saudi Arabia!”

Well, there ya go. That must prove that AEW is just a big ploy orchestrated by WWE.

i have to say that, following not all that closely, I idly wondered if WWE and AEW were in it together. the chief pieces of evidence being the mention of AEW and the way the WWE uncharacteristically built up the departure of Ambrose/Moxley. Also, they just plain need the competition. And from the amount of blood I saw on the clip of Rhodes/Rhodes, this also gives them a hedge on tastes turning toward a more R-rated product.

AEW did take a TV-14 rating, which is what WWE was in the Attitude Era.
