With more and more agents getting into teams' executive suites - and GM pay and longevity finite - how much temptation is there to make moves that benefit "former" clients or partners. The NBA is getting to be like Washington DC these days.

Old news, though. Was reported by Yahoo Sports last year. Very little about that story that supposedly took two years to report was new information.

I kind of thought the same thing - since there were so many links to previously reported stories in that one - but the collection of it all in one place is pretty staggering.

2-3-2 started with the live 1985 Finals between the Lakers and Celtics.

The tape delayed 1980 Finals had Games 3-4 back-to-back, on Saturday and Sunday. Then Wednesday back in Inglewood then Magic jumping center in Game 6 on Friday.

    1981 was worse: Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday-Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday.

1984 (Celtics-Lakers) was the final straw (and some bad scheduling): Sunday-Thursday (travel) Sunday-Wednesday (travel) Friday (travel) Sunday (travel) Tuesday.

2-3-2 then was put in place.

That’s true. Paints a more vivid picture of the dumpster fire that we already knew was bad.

The uproar over the Heath Ledger story just surprises me, because that had been told and widely received with skepticism a year ago. It’s just disappointing that the best anecdote from an expose like that wasn’t originally reported.

I was simply referring to CBS wanting to avoid prime-time games during May sweeps.

In 1980 CBS gave its affiliates the CHOICE of airing Lakers-76ers Game 6 (aka the Magic game) live or on tape-delay. My affiliate aired it on tape-delay, and I had to follow live on radio.

Didn't Heath Ledger die before the Dark Knight was even released?

And I can’t imagine anyone being shocked that Kobe didn’t refute the story when it went public a year ago, because it played into the narrative that he’s always pushed about himself; that he’s maniacal about finding ways to stay sharp, dialed in, etc.

So we come to find out that Kobe Bryant's career long right-hand man is a psycho.
Knock me over with a feather.
