It is quite possible his statement will be an announcement he is leaving the Justice Department as his counsel's office work is done. I would kind of admire the chain-yanking element of that move.

Mueller just told everyone who actually read his report (or has a handful of functioning brain cells) that Trump is a criminal. And told Congress to act.

He also exposed Barr as a fucking liar.

Most important, he confirmed we were attacked by Russia. Not interfered with. Not meddled with. Attacked.

And not one damn thing has been done about that.

Perhaps impeaching Trump is a difficult political move at this time because of the upcoming election. But if this stuff does not warrant impeachment why even have it available as an option? Lay everything out in public and put the pressure on the Senate Republicans.

As someone who lives in New Gilead territory, it is tough to tell how much things like today sway the true Trumpists. I’ve noticed they are way less vocal now, way less outwardly supportive, but not denouncing. For example, an attorney down the block from me used to fly a trump flag. He now doesn’t. Some of my friends who would post pro trump things, now don’t, but they do use some of the rhetoric of economy, jobs, conservative values must be protected. Then I talk to GOP strategists and they all swear that any republican running now must be a trumpist or face a real chance of losing in the primary.

Well, that was fun. Back to a broken Congress where shit all gets done.

If Mueller's team had found what it was looking for it wouldn't have walked all over the grocery store looking for the thing. The report would have been filed a year ago. What were left with is an investigation dragging on, a churlish, impetuous president fuming about it, threatening things, suggesting courses of attack, hinting and hoping for obstruction, like some mobster. Meanwhile, the supposed savior of the Democrats, Mueller, plays his report straight down the line, not an inch more or less, which resolves nothing.

It is a picture of government that absolutely doesn't know what to do with itself. Fun times.

    Mueller to Pelosi:

    You have one job.

Key quote ... "If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so."
