Should it matter what you think? Should it matter what I think? Should it matter what RTExpress thinks whenever US/Russia is the topic?

I know what these words say. What do they mean practically? I’m playing devils advocate a little here. That we have to elect people Boris Johnson likes? Or the royals? Didn’t America form precisely to care never ever again about a royal?

Fair question. So...should it matter what British royals think? Moreover: Do the British remotely care what we think?

I think it matters what one of our top (if not the top) allies thinks. I think they do care, hence their reaction to Trump's NHS comments.

Trump certainly cares what they think. He’s acting like it very important to him

I don't think they care what Trump thinks about the NHS. I think that the British public very clearly expressed their opinion regarding doing away with the NHS (or exchanging it for a U.S. style system) to the politicians who lead their government, though.

We don’t live in a vacuum of city states as much as Trump wants to. We should build relationships with our allies.

All of this comes back to a defining characteristic of Trump. He thinks that life is a zero sum game and anything which benefits a friend or a foe is bad for us.

It should matter what the people of our longest, closest allies think. Not necessarily Charles and his brood, but the British population at large, yes. This asshole knows dick one about diplomacy, which requires forging lasting relationships. He just burns every perceived sucker he can, future be damned.

You really are getting worse with this stuff. Representing our country to the rest of the world is a significant part of the job and President Trump keeps screwing it up. That absolutely matters despite your ridiculous assertion to the contrary.

They don’t like Trump any more than I do. I’m just not sure what difference it makes.

I partly suspect the British care most that Trump doesn’t give a real shit what they think. I suspect the American media cares far too much.
