Bruce Bochy won his 1,000th game as Giants manager with SF's victory over the Mets on Tuesday. Needs 58 more (which could be a mighty feat with these Giants) to move into the top 10. Only John McGraw has more wins as a Giant.

 

Steve Blass was a half step away from telling that player and his “stuff” to get off his lawn.

I went to plenty of Frontier League Evansville Otters games 20-some years ago with a buddy from work. Tickets were $2-4, beers were $2 at most. They drew pretty well, but, then again, you never had to fight anyone for a seat.

Hotter than hell and Ohio River humid. We didn’t pay rapt attention to the games, more interested in the women with their hair up fanning themselves with programs.
