He wasn't thinking this obviously but in a way Draymond's timeout was as genius as the famous one Paul Westphal took at end of Game 5 of triple-OT game in 1976 Finals. Westphal knew it was only shot for Phoenix to get ball back (rules were different then) and it led to Gar Heard's tying shot. Here, Warriors had no chance with Draymond rolling on ground. With the T there was still the .00001 percent chance the Raptors could miss one of the three FTs from the T and foul and heave in a full-court three-pointer. Alas.

And I'm ready for Warriors to be done and it's impossible to compare eras so who knows if they're better than Bulls, Lakers, Celtics, etc., but I'd definitely say there's never been a team that's harder to kill or a team where there was such a feeling of never feeling they were out of it, whether down 3-1 in a series or 7 points with a minute left. Tougher to kill than the movie's Warriors.

The thing about Toronto in this series, they were "in" every game, didn't seem to have an off night at all.

I was thinking the same thing on the timeout/technical foul. You have to stop the clock somehow, and that or a jump ball are the only ways in that situation. The clock probably runs out by the time you get the latter, so calling the timeout is the best of two bad options.

On the second point, those early 2000s Lakers teams were pretty damn tough to put away, too. It always seemed like they were able to turn the last two minutes of a game into 20 minutes if they needed to, and they had quite a few role players (Robert Horry in Game 3 against the Kings in 2002, Derek Fisher vs. the Spurs in Game 5 in 2004) hit season-saving shots when they needed them most.

No matter what happens, no matter who wins and loses, you can always count on Skip Bayless being an absolute dickhead.

I like the Warriors (even being a lapsed Laker fan) and I usually root for the West Coast team in times like this, but I'm really happy for Kawhi. Aztecs represent!

I think its kind of a rare series where both teams can leave mostly satisfied. The Raptors were better throughout. They made Leonard the star that was somewhat obscured on the Spurs. They got Lowry and Gasol redemption rings, plus Ibaka who had become a bad contract/never was player.

And the Warriors, they got to Game 6, nearly game 7 with two dramatic performance. They survived shorthanded against a better team at points, and finally truly shorthanded went down swinging. I'm sure they're not happy losing, but they don't have a ton to hang their heads over.

Let's do it again next year, with a completely different NBA.

Klay Thompson has a torn ACL.

    Unbelievable.

Is it too soon to declare the Warriors empire dead? No KD, possibly no Klay or Cousins, but Curry and some battle-tested young'uns.

At the very least it's going to be on hiatus for a year. Next year's team is going to be brutal.

They'll still offer the 5 year max to Klay. Do they offer it to KD? I think probably, but that potentially puts them even deeper into tax hell next year, trying to cobble together a team with exceptions and vet minimums while two guys miss the season.

Gonna be Steph, Draymond and the Pips.
