    If the South Korean government had told Sang Moon Bae on 17 tee he'd earned an exemption and no longer had to report for military service right after this tournament, he wouldn't have duffed this chip and they might have won!

    Americans will follow dominant American golfers, male or female. They went gaga over Nancy Lopez back in the day. I thought Stacy Lewis might fill the bill a few years ago, but she fell off.

    (It's not the best example that Americans will also go gaga over blonde Euros who speak English well like Annika Sorenstam too, but it is what it is.)
