Im sure your family just squatted on the land and worked it, personally driving off whatever families were already there. Lucky for them they never had to pay for it.

My lumber-magnate GG-grandfather paid for thousands of acres (although, some lawsuits contended, not enough). At any rate, that land had already been taken away from somebody else: Native Americans.

Happily the US government killed off the great majority of them so the question of reparations is largely moot.

Meanwhile, a couple centuries earlier, another of my distant ancestors, a member of one of the early families in Plymouth/Salem, was notable in the late 1600s for owning the first slave (which he acquired as a throw-in on a land deal) in his Massachusetts village.

In a diary entry he noted that for some strange reasons he couldn't fathom the slave's work ethic seemed a little lackadaisical. Eventually the slave ran off and GGGGGG-Grandpa decided it wasn't worth going after him.

Among the provisions of the Presidential Integrity and Responsibility Act Of 2021:

Limit of 3 "acting" appointments at any one time

Any individual may only be appointed to one interim position. After that they must undergo complete confirmation process all over again.

All cabinet or executive positions must be filled within 45 days of vacancy.

Why am I not surprised that a poster with your history wouldn't get it. It's about acknowledging what happened, how it has affected our society in the past and the impact it has on us now. Both sides constantly fuck up the message, just like you just did.

Another talking point for the Dems. DJT Jr is against curing cancer.

Good, we’ve identified the evil doer. Go find an African American family, sign over your home to them and vacate their new premises immediately. Sign over your car and your bank accounts. Make it right. Give back to make up for what your ancestors did wrong.

Especially tasty given that Trump said he was going to cure cancer, eradicate AIDS, and go to Mars an hour later.
