D and/or R, preferably jointly and in a bipartisan manner, get thy shit together and fix it.

And as Alma and others have tried to discuss with a lot of details, it’s not a simple matter or else it would have (hopefully) been fixed by now.

I don’t particularly like the current Resident’s brinksmanship on this, but if it eventually breaks the logjam into a workable solution, maybe some good will come of it.

I don’t see this as an issue that the D’s can resist on and be intransigent. Better put a fix in now well before Nov 2020. And not just a bandaid.

Here’s the thing, Alma. We hear so often from Republicans that they are more moral than Democrats for any number of reasons.

So, logically speaking, if Obama’s policy on treating undocumented children was so terrible, shouldn’t Republicans be working to improve conditions instead of making conditions worse, demonizing kids and making excuses? You know, personal responsibility and all that?

 

What's another interpretation - in this context, given the well-known history of this speaker - for "be careful?"

Sure. But I’m also not a Republican. Trump’s folks haven’t handled this well, but, again, no administration, for many years, has.

The Governor of Oregon should declare a state of emergency, mobilize the National Guard and arrest all known militia leaders. Those who resist, well, they can die with their boots on.

 

I doubt it's fake. Oregon's Republicans have fled the state to avoid a quorum and prevent a vote. The gov ordered state troopers to track them down, and "militia" has turned out. The legislature was supposed to meet today, but it was canceled because of that.

But this walkout also came with violent threats. Multiple senators are believed to have fled to Idaho, with right-wing militias flocking to their aid.
