Tommy La Stella hit an inside-the-park homer in the first inning last night for the Angels. His drive to dead center hit the top of the fence and ricocheted toward right center. Cincinnati center fielder Nick Senzel had to chase the ball quite a ways and La Stella had no problem circling the bases.
Where the hell was Yasiel Puig, the right fielder? He should have at least trotted over toward center, just in case something happened. I don't know where he was. The video replays didn't show him and none of the commentators said anything. That he didn't appear in any of the video replays is further proof that he didn't even move. If he had gotten into the play, it probably would have only been a double for La Stella.
Also, Puig later got thrown out of the game for arguing balls and strikes. It was a quick hook and he didn't do much. Uh, the ump was Kerwin Danley. That explains a lot.
Their last two games (Sunday in St. Louis, Tuesday at home) the Angels have had Angel Hernandez and Kerwin Danley behind the plate.

I went to the game. Besides the inside the park home run, the Angels Wilfredo Tovar scored from second on a sacrifice fly on a deep fly to left field after Jose Peraza, just moved to the OF after Puig was ejected, either forgot how many outs there were or just lollygagged after the catch.

Puig put on quite a performance after being ejected and David Bell got tossed too.

MLB putting its best foot forward in London. Neither Porcello nor Tanaka could record three outs and it's a 6-6 tie after one inning that took one hour.
