Beto did OK. But Castro and DiBlasio really went after him. He’s become a target. Good answer on the impeachment question even if I think it’s palaver.

Tulsi Gabbard had an odd night. She might be the most different than any other Democrat. But she wasn’t much of a counterpuncher and she seems most likely interested in foreign policy.

Inslee had a lot of money lines. Kind of a heavy.

I thought both got a bump in the face to be the Veep candidate. Ryan won a tiny bit more relatively by people now realising that he exists.

Really, this is exactly the point. The only 75-year-old white guys who will influence this election are in Russia.

The Democratic candidate will be best served to draw from minorities and suburban women.

    Andrew is wrong.

Klobuchar did give a great closing statement. I like her. But she won’t make promises, she won’t run too far left and she’s not a media darling. She won’t win.

No, I think she’s just nervous. But you’re right, she quivers more than Hillary facing a flight of stairs (hi YF!)

Iowa is still months away, but this election is being won and lost every day. One of the fascinating things about the large field is that candidates are vying for some of the same sub-sets of voters - you need to "own" a particular issue or group of voters to survive Iowa. Which is why I think people were going after Beto - I don't think he's the strongest candidate on any issue or among any group of voters, but he's got a chunk of voters (for now).

No surprise that SEC hero Clay Travis says she’s the most impressive of the group. She’s a Trumpist. The only two more wretched Senators are the Turtle and DINO Joe.

    She isn’t/wasn’t wretched.

But I find her odd being in the race.
